We may collect your personal details, including but not limited to, your name and contact details and other relevant information received from you directly or from your CV.

The main sources for obtaining your personal information are:

  • telephone or face to face interviews with you
  • references

How do we use your personal information?

Your personal information will be collected and handled by us for the following purposes:

  1. to propose job opportunities and/or other services to you;
  2. to maintain our business relationship, whether you are a client or a candidate;
  3. to match your details with job vacancies, and, after your consent, send your personal information to clients in order to propose your profile for a specific recruitment mission;
  4. to respond to your requests or questions when you contact us;
  5. to send you other information, e.g. our newsletters or invitations to our events, which may be of interest to you
  6. to transfer data to trusted third parties where we have retained them to provide services that you or our clients have requested, such as : tests, references or verification of the details you have provided from third party sources. Such third parties comply with similar and equally stringent undertakings of privacy and confidentiality as Expatria.
  7. we may also seek your consent to collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information for any other purpose not listed above.

Our use of your information as described above is permitted by applicable data protection law because it is :

  • processed with your consent which we obtain from you from time to time (e.g.  when you send us a spontaneous application or an application for a specific recruitment mission, when you provide us with your business card or send us an email with your contact details, etc)
  • necessary for our legitimate interests in pursuing the purposes set out above, and such interests in each case not being overridden by your privacy interests. 

How long do we keep your personal information?

We will only store your personal data for as long as it is necessary having regard to the purposes of the processing or for as long as you wish to receive our communications. Typically this is for 2 years. At any time, you can contact us and have us delete your personal data.

Sharing with third parties

To facilitate our efficient use of your information, and to provide you with content and/or resources, or to fulfil a request you make, we disclose your information to third parties. However, this disclosure will only occur in the following circumstances:

  • To suppliers, contractors and agents: from time to time we may engage or employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include, but are not limited to, the hosting and/or maintaining of website content and the provision of marketing services, etc.

Such recipients will only have access to your personal information as required to perform their functions, and are not permitted to use such personal information for any other purposes. These recipients comply with similar and equally stringent undertakings of privacy and confidentiality as Expatria.

  • To government or law enforcement authorities if we are under a legal obligation to do so.

As explained in the “Sharing with third parties” paragraph above, we share your personal information with third party suppliers, contractors or agents. If we use a third party supplier, contractor or agent, your personal information remains under our control and we have controls in place to ensure your personal information is adequately protected. Such third parties are based in the EU.

We endeavor to take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy. 

Data Security

Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, you should be aware that the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted by email or other channels to a third party. For this reason, any transmission is at your own risk. Your rights. How you can access, correct and delete your personal information

  • Right to be forgotten/have data deleted: You have the right to have your personal data deleted, however, Expatria may be under legal obligations to retain certain data.
